FIGHT ROLEPLAY
● Your first post in a roleplay cannot contain an attack.
● Yellowstone makes use of the 3 dodge rule. You cannot dodge 3 consecutive times in a row; if you do, you must take the maximum damage as detailed in your opponent's post, provided your opponent's attack is realistically feasible (for instance, if your opponent attempts to rip out your throat after you've run up your dodge count but they are not in a position in which they can do so, then they must choose a different attack). Counters do not count as dodges, as you receive damage while performing them.
● Be careful when continuously taking minimum damage: they can start to count as dodges after a point.
● Roleplay locks are used in the event of a fight and last for 3 IRL days. However, this time period can be extended if legitimate OOC reasons are given by either party as to why they are unable to fight. During an RP lock, the characters involved in the fight may not roleplay with anyone until the locked fight is resolved. If you cannot get on for 3 days, inform the other parties or a staff member. Such as the night of the fight you know you will not be back, the fight can be postponed for up to 1 week without any sign of ONE party. When locks occur, only characters that have posted can join in the fight unless all sides agree to an addition. We no longer allow random walk-alongs to join the fight. Keep in mind that, while fights may take hours in real time, everything is happening over the course of minutes ICly, and chances are that the fight would realistically end long before anyone came along. Our suggestion is to call staff to moderate locked fights. If a roleplay lock expires, and one party has not shown up or given an explanation for why they cannot fight, the party that is present will be declared the winner of the fight.
● Fleeing from fights is permitted as long as it is realistic. If a character wishes to flee from a fight, they must post their attempt and give all other parties the opportunity to post as well. If, after their fleeing post, they can realistically dodge any attacks directed at them, at that point they have successfully fled and may leave the roleplay as well as the IC area without it being considered twinking.
● Once the first attack is posted in a roleplay, the roleplay becomes LOCKED. This means that no other characters may join the roleplay unless they have received permission from every person already in the roleplay. This is done in order to prevent OOC to IC. If both sides of the fight OOCly agree to let someone join, then and only then may they post in.
● As mentioned in the "General Rules" thread, twinking during a fight will always result in your opponent being declared the victor, and they will be allowed to decide whether or not to kill/maim your character.
● Auto-hitting is not permitted. All attacks and their desired damage must be attempted.
● You may not bring in your own alts to assist you. Additionally, you may not whisper someone and OOCly ask them to come and help you; this falls under the previously-mentioned "OOC to IC" rule. An alt can be in a group fight as long as they are not aiding your other character against the same rival character, and if and only if it was all done correctly and legitimately (for instance, the alt was already in the roleplay when the fight broke out).
● Not every fight is to the death. It is important to know when to submit. Realistically, once pinned/subdued during a spar or display of dominance, a wolf will submit and will not continue to struggle. This is not so much a rule as a suggestion to avoid unnecessary injury or death.
